Installing Ant Video downloader version 2.x

    In case if you would like to stick to Mozilla Firefox version 56.x and below or using browser that doesn't support WebExtensions, you can install XPCOM type of Ant Video downloader version 2.x

    Open your browser and navigate to the following link: https://archive.ant.com/firefox/AVD-FF-2.4.7.50-Release.xpi


    Use Save Link As... option in case of getting "Firefox prevented this site from asking you to install software on your computer" error message.


    Select saved XPI installer from your browser's File - Open File... menu for extension installation.


    Take into account the following considerations about Ant Video downloader 2.x running in Firefox 56.x:

    • Version 2.x is no longer supported, so there will be no updates or fixes

    • You probably should disable autoupdate feature in Firefox browser to prevent it updating to version 57 and further. Ant Video downloader 2.x works only with Firefox version 56.x and below

    • You need also to disable AVD automatic updates in this case either add-on will be automatically updated to the current version. You need to go to the Tools - Add-ons menu in Firefox, select Extensions tab, click on More link at Ant.com Video Downloader field and check Off option in the Automatic Updates row.

    • After you installed Ant Video downloader version 2.x, go to extension preferences and install video converter (click on Install button at Converter section or download appropriate FFmpeg archive from here )

    Note that you don't need to install Native Application for Ant Video downloader version 2.x
