What does colored icons at the left of the video title mean?

To indicate what protocol is used for the particular video a colored icons were added to AVD popup.


Depending on the type of the stream and website there are several icons at the top of detected video. You can check each protocol name by hovering a cursor over such an icon.


Single file type of video/audio named Scoring system is indicated by a gray icon in AVD popup.

      

Video marked with such icon could be downloaded also only via browser extension without Native Application installed.


Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH), also known as MPEG-DASH, is an adaptive bitrate streaming technique that enables high quality streaming of media content over the Internet delivered from conventional H TTPweb servers

    


HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) is one of the most common streaming protocol which consists of separate video and audio segments and indicated in AVD popup by violet icon.

    

An option to select from all detected video qualities are available for HLS.

Additional information about HLS streams is located under the detected video title and could contain lock or diamond icons for indicating protected type of HLS protocol.


There are also few website-related protocols.


The common YouTube streaming protocol is marked by a well-known red icon.

       

Most videos consist of a pair or more of audio and video files which could be downloaded separately using the gear wheel menu in AVD popup.

In order to detect and download desired video quality it must be selected in an online player first.


YouTube now playing protocol is another type of video that may be detected at YouTube.
    

Another website-related protocol supported by AVD and marked with a blue icon with appropriate logo is vimeo.
