A little more control over which video is downloaded, for example the playing video in Facebook, at the moment Ant seems to pick a video at random when downloading from Facebook...  Really useful as Facebook live videos tend to play in the newsfeed & not in a stand alone player.  Or should that be better functioning with Facebook?

Unfortunately for now AVD scoring algorithm detects all videos at page for such websites.

Please try to disable video autoplay option in Facebook settings to make AVD able to detect only what is currently playing.

Autoplay is disabled in Facebook settings, when attempting to download a video Ant downloader seems to select a non playing video at random.

Our developers still unable to fix Facebook issue due to specific website playlist.

If autoplay disabling didn't solved your problem with detection please try to open video in new tab to make AVD able to detect only what is currently playing without false detection.

    a 'Black List' !!!

when i post a 'tweet' on twitter, and there are several hundred to several thousand 'New Tweets', Twitter downloads them, Before, As it's submitting my new tweet,  as if i'm going to read 1,000's of 'new tweets'...

Anyways, chrome://Ant script tries to 'inspect' every one of the 1,000 +/- 'new tweets' and causes Firefox to Hang for 10's of minutes or even Freeze requiring me to 'kill' the ff process & relaunch firefox.. Not fun.

I'd like a Blacklist to add Twitter & for the above 'Peter J Chandler' the ability to add Facebook. So Ant is NOT 'inspecting' every 'new post' on select sites.

Oh, and Thank You for Antbar... Awesome... easier than wget in terminal

    Landis.
    - fyi. I run Linux only (KDE, Enlightenment), incase that means anything to your developers...

Make it like it was before, click the button and the video downloads to the target folder. No secondary window/tab is needed, no sifting through a list of video entries to find the one you want. Also put the drop down arrow back on the button, and have the downloaded videos keep their title.

I just want to see the file size of the download after detection. That would make it easier it to sift through the list of video entries you want to download.

I totally agree with Revenant666, please make it like it was before with no secondary window and only the video that is playing downloaded.

We still continue to get a lot of angry reviews about we broke add-on, but please note that Firefox has changed and nothing can be like before.

Old type of XPCOM add-ons are not supported by Firefox 57 and below due to complete Firefox rebuilt.

If you need OLD AVD you still could install it into OLD Firefox 56 or below at this page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/versions/

More information about new AVD 3.0 you can find here: https://support.ant.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005568983-About-the-new-Ant-Video-Downloader-3-0

I'd like to see the app save the downloaded videos under "Ant Videos" again, not just in the base of the "Downloads" folder. It was quite helpful having them kept separate.

The old features from the previous generation of Firefox I miss:

    1) I don't like the new tab to manage downloading the files; I liked the old one-click-to-download button in my Firefox toolbar -- which leads me to:

    2) When downloading direct videos, ANT now brings up the pop-up dialog asking me which folder I want to save to, and it's annoying sometimes when I just want it to download to the default folder immediately without asking me.

    3) The old naming convention doesn't work anymore for direct video downloads; i.e. it uses the exact source filename from the video server as opposed to the browser tab title. e.g. Sometimes the source video file names are like ghh398324g59u3g922.mp4, when that video title on the front-facing website is embedded as like MyVideoTitle.mp4. The old ANT used to save the file as "MyVideoTitle.mp4" but now it saves as "ghh398324g59u3g922.mp4" by default instead.

    4) The stream converter now puts the video container in .mkv which is actually technically better I guess, but I miss the .mp4 container because of the thumbnail previews in my Windows folders (Windows doesn't have the codecs to natively display .mkv thumbnails in the Explorer).

We are working on popup for new add-on but separate tab still will stay as one of features for managing detected streams at the moment.

Currently all downloaded streaming videos are saving to Ant Videos folder and for all scoring videos you are able to select a path. This options will became customizable when Preferences will be added to the add-on.

We are also working on changes to the file naming in order to add it original title, quality and location website name.

MKV container was chosen in order to save time for converting and increase quality of video and audio streams in downloaded video. In case of problem with MKV format we recommend you to install K-Lite Codec Pack

Thanks. Will we have the option to disable the separate tab in the future if we don't want to use it? Also, in the future will we have the option to choose which container format we can convert the streams to, so that maybe we can choose from .mkv, .mp4, etc.?

At the moment our main task is to return support for as many sites and streaming protocols as possible.

We also do not have a solution for storing all the contents and functional of the AVD tab into the icon popup menu, so we can not completely abandon it for now.

We previously considered the possibility of adding a selection of several containers for saving video, but the old AVD functionality did not allow this. We have returned to this idea in the new AVD and will try to implement it for those sites where it is possible without affecting the downloading and video conversion speed.

But at this moment on the queue the return of the main functionality of the old AVD version and the hotfixing of new bugs.

While I was testing the other video downloaders, I noticed that all of them were able to incorporate everything into an icon popup menu. Are they doing something that you are unable to?
