Invisible Ant.com Video Downloader toolbar for IE

Ant.com Video Downloader supports 32-bits platform. All operational systems supported by Ant.com Video Downloader (Windows 7, Vista, XP) have 32-bits platform by default. Ant.com Video Downloader will become invisible only if you manually change it for 64-bits.

This was your response to me not being able to see my tool bar.

To enable Ant.com Video Downloader, you need to do the following: go to Tools>Manage Add-ons>Select Ant.com Video Downloader>Enable it and restart IE session.

    Regards,

I tried this. In the manage add ons area, I don't see "Ant.com Video Downloader." I wen t under programs, and I don't even see "ant" anything. Maybe I should remove and start all over. I saw the toolbar and actually used it once successfully. Then, I was playing around with it and disabled the toolbar. But I've been unable to reload it. Every time I try to redownload ant off the webstie, it sends me to an option for "repair" but I still don't see the toolbar. I don't see ant in my programs or in my manage add ons. What do I do now?  I saw one comment that 32 bit versus 64 bit may matter. Could this be my issue?

    Hello Mark,

Could you also check if the "Enable third-party browser extensions" option is selected. Please, do the following:

    Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Check "Enable third-party browser extensions".

If this is not a source of the problem, try uninstalling the add-on: http://support.ant.com/entries/20348557-how-to-uninstall-the-ant-com-video-downloader and the installing it again.

64-bit Platform could be a problem. However, I suppose you have a 32-bit platform, since you managed to use it. Anyway, I suggest that you should check the Windows Platform you have.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Should I understand from this post that ant video download does not work with the 64bit version of IE9?

The problem I experience is that the video downloader installs ok, I can enable the add on, I see the add on if I view add ons, I see the ant tool bar and and I can download videos..... but only as long as I don't close IE. Once I've closed IE and I restart it, I no longer see the tool bar and I no longer have ant listed as an add on. I have to uninstall ant, reinstall it whenever I want to download videos, then it works again, but only the one time.  I am using IE9 64bit.

    regards

    Hello,

It is preferable that you use 32-bit IE. Another cause of the problem could be the 64-bit Windows Platform. Do you have a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows Platform?

    Morning all,

If you are running 64 bit ersion of windows I don't think the Ant downloader will show up in the Add On listings, what I have learned to do to  get the "download button" and the "download manage"r button to show in the tool bar is to pin your IE icon to the tool bar simply by right clicking on it and then click on "Pin to tool Bar"  After it is in the tool bar if you want the Ant downloads to be in the IE tool bar very simply, right click on the IE icon IN THE TOOL BAR at the bottom of the screen.  When you do this you will see the http Address for http://Ant.com/video downloader.  Click on this and IE will open with the Ant buttons in it.  I don't understand why but this was my last resort..

The explanation given at the top of this page is not really very clear to me. So to summarise; while Ant is supported on both 64 bit and 32 bit versions of windows, it only works in in 32 bit version of Internet Explorer.

However, 32 bit is available on 64 Bit Windows and can be identified by looking for a version named Internet Explorer rather than Internet Explorer (64-bit).

Therefore, all that is required is to have a shortcut to the 32 bit version in you start menu (if it does not already exist), toolbar or desktop and use it when you want access to Ant.
