Beta version of Ant Video downloader for Mozilla Firefox 57+ is ready.
This version has been sent to Mozilla Firefox for review. Review process will take some time. Meanwhile you can install and use this beta version.
NOTE: This extension is not signed by Mozilla. Firefox browser allows unsigned extensions to work only until next launch. If you close and re-open Firefox browser, you will need to install Ant Video downloader extension again. Once Ant Video downloader is approved and signed, you can download it from AMO — it will be installed permanently.
AVD-FF-2.9.40-Release.xpi (Firefox extension, 165 Kb)
AVD-NativeApp-2.9.40-Release.msi (Windows Installer package, 14.6 Mb)
- Download both files, .xpi and .msi
- Open Mozilla Firefox, version 57 or higher
- Type about:debugging in the address bar and hit Enter
- Click on button Load Temporary Add-on
- Select file AVD-FF-2.9.40-Release.xpi and click Open
Extension is now installed and you will see Ant Video downloader button on toolbar.
If you click on it, Ant Video downloader page will open. You will see the following text:
Warning: Native application is not installed or not available. Install it to enable streaming video downloads.
- Run file AVD-NativeApp-2.9.40-Release.msi
Accept terms of License agreement, then click Install, and then Finish to complete installation.
You can now refresh Ant Video downloader page, you should see text indicating that native application is installed, and its version.
That's it, you can now surf your favorite video sites and download videos.
NOTE: Native application is required to download streaming videos. Without it, AVD can only download solid video and audio files that have direct link to.
NOTE: Native application is available for Windows only for now. Versions for Linux and Mac OS X are going to released later.
